About the event

Join us for our monthly lecture series! This month, we are featuring an amazing panel of local authors. Hear discussion about how they got into writing, what it takes to deal with the dreaded "writer's block," what self-publishing is actually like, and much, much more!

Panel Participants:

Lauri Cruver Cherian is a retired English as a Second Language teacher, an author and poet. She enjoys volunteering at the Planetarium, acting, traveling, singing, and writing stories and poetry. She is the author of the three books, Poems of the Point (2022), Brave as Thistles (2023) and Four Anxious Armadillos (2024).

The Rozelle Writers Guild met in January 2018 at a writing workshop taught by local author, Ron Rozelle. He encouraged those attending to seek out a critique group because they can be very helpful in honing one’s craft. Several attendees decided to join forces and have become not only better writers, but fast friends. The Guild has met faithfully twice a month, even through the pandemic utilizing Zoom! They named themselves The Rozelle Writers Guild in honor of their mentor and friend. Together, the Guild has published an anthology of works called Sparks of Connection: Matchbook Moments. Guild members Diana Miles, Laura Jinkins, AJ Jinkins, Kathy Sims (tent.), and Jami Doddroe (tent.) will join the panel.

David Winder has written more than seven unfinished novels. His first published book is Where Are the Fighting Giraffes? A Guide to the Ordinary, Odd and Outrageous Nicknames of U.S. High Schools. He hopes to have either a second published book or an eighth unfinished novel soon.

Light bites and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. Feel free to order anything else from the menu on your own tab.
